Philadelphia flower farmer Courtney sitting in a garden

About My Flower Farm

After graduating with a BFA from University of Tennessee, Courtney Jewell moved to Philadelphia in 2003 and has lived in east Mt. Airy for over a decade. With her background in design, she started gardening and designing gardens for neighbors and friends, which inspired her take horticulture classes at Temple Ambler Campus.

Fast forward a few years and many iterations of her own garden, Courtney decided along with a friend to start a small flower CSA. Since then, her passion for growing and arranging flowers flourished.

Her focus on organic, colorful and whimsical floral arranging can help any beginner understand how to use colors, textures and the natural world to put together florals in an unexpected and beautiful way. Courtney’s favorite thing about sharing her flowers is the look on people’s faces when they see a bouquet of flowers that she has grown and arranged.

How It Started

What started with a couple of 16x4ft raised beds in my backyard in Philadelphia has bloomed in to 1000 sq feet of growing space at home in Mt. Airy, 2000 sq. feet of growing space in Germantown, and 10K sq feet in Fort Washington—in just 7 years!
